Library Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Clerk. As a key member of our library staff, you will provide exceptional customer service to patrons, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.

• Customer Service: Provide assistance to patrons at public service desks, responding to requests and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
• Material Management: Return materials to shelves, arranging books and materials for shelving, checking for damaged materials, and returning damaged materials.
• Overdue Materials: Process overdue materials by reviewing information and contacting users.

• Education: High School graduation or equivalent.
• Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with co-workers, the public, and elected officials.
• Technical Skills: Skill in the operation and use of standard office software, including databases and presentation programs, as well as standard Microsoft products.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to alphabetize and numerically sequence materials.

This is a regular part-time position with no benefits available. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
