POSITION OVERVIEW

Join the expanding team at Black & McDonald. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to fill the role of Facilities Cleaner. This position is essential in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within our facilities. The successful candidate will be stationed in Richmond, ON, and will report directly to the Supervisor. Due to the nature of the work environment, candidates must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and washing various surfaces.
  • Utilize floor cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and Zambonis.
  • Vacuum carpets in both office and public spaces, ensuring cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily spot cleaning and disinfect high-touch areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness in common areas, hallways, and offices.
  • Restock dispensers with necessary supplies such as paper towels, soap, and sanitizers.
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms and fixtures.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash bins and replacing liners.
  • Wash windows and interior walls at ground level.
  • Disinfect gym equipment and other shared facilities.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or damages.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and perform regular safety checks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with colleagues and building occupants.
  • Complete necessary documentation such as hazard assessments and cleaning logs.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior custodial experience is an asset.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of walking long distances indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks effectively.
  • Comfortable wearing steel-toed boots during shifts.
  • Experience with medical-grade cleaning and handling biohazard materials is preferred.
