Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, Nights, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our critical care units. You will be responsible for recommending and administering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including arterial blood gases, neonatal procedures, trauma care, and ventilator transports, to patients with respiratory disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead less experienced practitioners in providing respiratory care services.
  • Perform duties in a manner that promotes quality patient care, customer service, and safety, while promoting cost efficiency and a commitment to the CQI process.
  • Make clinical rounds, assess the effectiveness and appropriateness of therapy, and make recommendations or refer problems through the Quality Assurance Program.
  • Develop and implement respiratory care plans, and make recommendations for patient management.
  • Communicate effectively with professional colleagues, manage time effectively, and document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with annual and semi-annual regulatory evaluation and training requirements, and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide in-service education and training to respiratory care personnel, and present in-service and patient education programs to nurses, physicians, and community members.
Requirements
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist-Adult Critical Care Specialty (RRT-ACCS) or Registered Respiratory Therapist-Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS) required.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
  • BCLS and two (2) of the following: ACLS, NPS, PALS, NRP, CPFT, RPFT, RPSGT, CPR Instructor, ACLS Instructor, NRP Instructor, PALS Instructor, or Asthma Certified Educator.
  • Minimum of three (3+) years experience with two (2) years of critical care experience.
