Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Director of Public Relations, the intern will engage in a variety of tasks including the development of public relations strategies, storytelling, video creation, copywriting, event coordination, and other departmental activities.

This internship will focus on writing and video production, crafting media releases, documenting patient success stories, participating in strategic discussions, attending media events, composing blogs, and monitoring media coverage, along with other public relations responsibilities.

The department operates as the internal advertising agency for UofL Health.

The intern will gain valuable insights into the essential elements of functioning within a creative advertising agency or marketing division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and generate ideas for marketing initiatives and create new content for media releases, patient success narratives, communications, brochures, blogs, social media, and more.
  • Additional tasks will be assigned based on individual interests and skills.
  • While the primary focus will be on Public Relations, this intern will also acquire experience across all facets of marketing and communication efforts, including website management, social media engagement, internal communications, video production, strategic messaging, and marketing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, or Marketing.
  • Professional demeanor, polished presentation, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Attention to detail in large-scale projects.
  • Exceptional communication abilities (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized.
  • Effective time management skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
