Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol college buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, including those related to parking and traffic.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support incident reports.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and other campus departments to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Provide emergency response and first aid as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents and security activities.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must be a graduate of a full-time police academy or have equivalent experience.
  • Must be certified as a full-time police officer by the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission.
  • Must be eligible for appointment as a special state police officer in accordance with Massachusetts General Law.
  • Must possess a Massachusetts Class A License to Carry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze emergency situations and make sound decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts General Law and investigative procedures.
  • Computer literacy and experience with computer-aided dispatch and records management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
