Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Summit Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer a variety of non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology to diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions.
- Provide excellent diagnostic echo images, correct views, and accurate measurements for transthoracic echoes, stress echoes, bubble studies, and Definity studies.
- Report abnormalities to the physician promptly and clarify and follow doctor's orders.
- Complete work within an acceptable time frame and assess patients for potential risk factors.
- Assume accountability for managing patient care and safety, promoting a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
- Appropriately educate and explain procedures to patients and follow department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the cardiologist.
- Ensure proper identification of patients and provide for patient privacy, acting as a patient advocate and upholding patient rights.
- Respond effectively in an emergency situation and adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care.
- Document patient history and demographics in ProSolv and prioritize and organize work assignments and adjust priorities based on changing situations.
- Consult and communicate with other departments in a professional manner and employ tasking appropriately and timely.
- Follow department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems and ensure equipment is in acceptable conditions by conducting routine quality control.
Requirements
- 0-1 years of experience required, 2-4 years of experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
- Working knowledge and operation of cardiac ultrasound and cardiac testing equipment required.
- Recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias required.
- Understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology required.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills required.
- Experience with standard office equipment and technology preferred.
- Experience with standard cardiac testing and cardiac ultrasound equipment preferred.
- Experience with MUSE system preferred.
- Experience with EHR, practice management system, and departmental/ancillary systems preferred.
