About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Summit Health. As an Echo Imaging Professional, you will be responsible for administering non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology, providing excellent diagnostic echo images, and reporting abnormalities to physicians promptly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer a variety of non-invasive tests using ultrasound technology.
  • Provide excellent diagnostic echo images, correct views, and accurate measurements for Transthoracic Echoes, Stress Echoes, Bubble studies, and Definity Studies.
  • Report abnormalities to physicians promptly.
  • Clarify and follow doctor's orders.
  • Complete work within an acceptable time frame.
  • Assess patients for potential risk factors.
  • Assume accountability for managing patient care and safety.
  • Provide patient education and explain procedures effectively.
  • Follow department protocol for procedures unless specified differently by the Cardiologist.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and maintain patient privacy.
  • Respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Adhere to infection control standards specific to patient care.
  • Document patient history and demographics in ProSolv.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments and adjust priorities based on changing situations.
  • Consult and communicate with other departments in a professional manner.
  • Employ tasking appropriately and timely.
  • Follow department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience required, 2-4 years preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge and operation of Cardiac Ultrasound and Cardiac Testing Equipment.
  • Recognition of Cardiac Dysrhythmias required.
  • Understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology required.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to use problem-solving, critical thinking, and priority-setting skills required.
  • Experience with Standard Office Equipment and Technology preferred.
  • Experience with MUSE system preferred.
  • Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred.
