Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Shop Technician to join our team at Superior Energy. As a Shop Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and preparing well control and tubular equipment for delivery to customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it meets quality standards
  • Prepare equipment for delivery by cleaning, painting, and identifying new equipment
  • Assess damage to returned rental equipment and report to supervisors as needed
  • Perform visual inspections and functional tests of new equipment and tubular prior to shipping
  • Maintain shop operations and conditions, including general appearance and organization
  • Read and interpret specifications and procedures
  • Comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems & Procedures Manuals and HSE regulations
Requirements
  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training preferred
Technical Skills and Behavioral Abilities

We are looking for a candidate with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a warehouse, production, or oil and gas industry setting.

Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to use and apply basic math skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Forklift and overhead crane training preferred
  • Ability to meet physical requirements as defined by the company
