We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused individual to join our Property Field Claims Team. As a member of this team, you will play a vital role in providing an outstanding experience for our members by utilizing your investigative, negotiation, and communication skills to help them navigate the claim process and recover from unexpected events.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate and evaluate claims to determine coverage and resolve moderate to severe complexity claims, including preparing complete estimates of repair for covered damages.
- Handle moderate to severe complexity claims with minimal supervision, working with various vendor services and communicating with insureds, attorneys, public adjusters, and forensic experts.
- Explain benefits, coverages, and claims processes to members, either verbally or in writing, and apply knowledge of state and federal laws, statutes, and insurance regulations throughout the claims process.
- Maintain accurate and current claim file documentation and prepare claims estimates using Xactimate or similar estimating platforms.
- Make recommendations to management for settlement amounts outside of authority limits and identify suspicious losses, recommending referral to SIU when appropriate.
- Provide informal coaching and guidance to less experienced staff and may be called upon for catastrophe duty.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- At least 3 years of property claims adjusting experience with moderate to severe complexity, including writing estimates involving dwelling and other structural damages
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and empathetically with members
- Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating platforms and advanced knowledge of estimating losses of moderate complexity
- Demonstrated negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills, as well as developing knowledge of residential construction
- Proficiency with smartphones and various software applications
- Motivated and accountable to the team, work, and schedule
- Ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined spaces, including attics and crawl spaces
- Meet all safe driving requirements, including verification of driving record and possession of a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, including lifting a ladder in and out of the trunk of a car
- Ability to climb ladders and traverse roofs, including inspecting roofs and attics
