Job Title: LPN / LVN

Medasource is seeking a skilled LPN / LVN for a local contract job in Denton, Texas.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate LPN / LVN to provide high-quality care to individuals residing at the State Supported Living Center. The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic and complex routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of individuals within the assigned areas and assigned shift.
  • Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
  • Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
  • Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
  • Keep informed of and follow all agency, State Supported Living Center, and unit/home policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and assist with on-the-job training to others such as newly hired LVNs and direct care staff.
  • Assist Registered Nurses (RNs) with implementation of protocols, procedures, and programs to improve overall health and safety of staff and individuals.
Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a licensed vocation nurse in the state of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Graduation from a LVN program.
  • Prior employment experience as an LVN is preferred.
  • Experience working or volunteering directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities is preferred.
