Computed Tomography Technologist

Job Summary:
As a Computed Tomography Technologist at Premier Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing computed tomography (CT) procedures. You will work independently to perform CT scans, utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining equipment in good working condition and ensuring patient flow and scanner activities are coordinated efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform CT procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages, adhering to established protocols and evaluating CT studies for technical image quality.
2. Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the CT procedure, ensuring accurate and comprehensive patient information.
3. Implement screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed CT policies and procedures, performing daily and weekly QC as required.
4. Prepare and administer contrast media to patients according to policy, practicing sterile techniques and maintaining a safe environment.
5. Assist radiologists in special procedures and emergency situations, providing medical treatment and ensuring patient safety.
6. Coordinate patient care with other areas to optimize patient time and satisfaction, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
7. Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs, providing thorough and accurate information.
8. Ensure all records, files, and reports are properly recorded and maintained, performing clerical duties as necessary and verifying signed physician orders.
9. Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment locations and operations within the unit, adhering to radiation safety policies and procedures.
