Junior Transportation Systems Engineer

COLSA Corporation is looking for talented individuals to join our team as Transportation Systems Engineers. This role is ideal for those who are eager to leverage their skills to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of transportation systems.

We have openings that may be filled at various skill levels including Junior, Journeyman, Senior, and Subject Matter Expert (SME).

The responsibilities of this position encompass:

Systems Engineering

  • Assisting in the design, procurement, maintenance, and enhancement of transportation systems and their components.

Traffic Engineering

  • Utilizing knowledge of traffic engineering to support the development, integration, and verification of transportation systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Quality Assurance Engineering

  • Contributing to the development and evaluation of quality assurance strategies for the production and deployment of transportation systems.
  • Conducting analyses to ensure that systems can be manufactured under controlled processes with minimal risk to cost and user satisfaction.

Reliability Engineering

  • Assisting in the establishment of effective reliability processes that ensure transportation systems meet user requirements.
  • Reviewing reliability reports and assisting in system design evaluations.

Software Engineering

  • Applying software engineering principles to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of transportation software systems.
  • Utilizing software assurance practices to enhance system reliability and performance.

Integration Engineering

  • Performing systems integration tasks to ensure that all components of transportation systems work together effectively.
  • Developing processes to guarantee that systems are operationally safe and effective throughout their lifecycle.

Safety Engineering

  • Conducting safety assessments and developing safety program plans to ensure all transportation systems are safe for operation.
  • Assisting in the resolution of safety issues and risks associated with transportation systems.

Training Systems Engineering

  • Supporting the definition and development of training systems necessary for effective operation of transportation systems.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the relevant functional area.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous engineering experience related to transportation systems.
