About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team at Lakeview Church. As a valued member of our educational team, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for our young learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model Christian values and guide children's moral development
  • Assist the lead educator in managing classroom activities and creating plans for daily activities
  • Encourage creative thinking and stimulating learning through exploration, discovery, and play
  • Foster a safe and positive environment for children by supervising, establishing procedures, and reinforcing good habits
  • Enforce rules of behavior using positive reinforcement, calm tones, and redirection
  • Ensure the classroom is always kept in a clean and safe condition
  • Follow all Health and Safety requirements regulated by the state and center
  • Assist the lead educator in accurately assessing, recording student progress, and providing feedback for parents and center
  • Attend and actively participate in all center-required meetings
Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in Child Care, education, social work, or Christian ministry (a plus)
  • Knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children (a plus)
  • Patient and supportive approach to the learning process
  • Enthusiastic and encouraging
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be professional and intentional in learning
  • Ability to stand and move around for long hours at a time while teaching
  • Must pass a criminal background check
