About the Team
The TikTok DATA team plays a crucial role in the algorithm development and data analysis across various business scenarios, including short videos, live streaming, e-commerce, and more.
By continuously refining our industry-leading recommendation system, we provide comprehensive algorithmic strategies that enhance key performance indicators and strengthen our competitive edge.
The TikTok DATA Technical Program Management (TPM) team collaborates closely with the DATA and DATA Architecture teams to establish and refine a project management framework tailored for algorithmic projects, addressing challenges in project management, resource utilization, and research and development toolchains.
They engage with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale, critical projects, sharing responsibility for outcomes and business results.
Role Overview:
- As a TPM, you will facilitate collaboration among diverse teams across regions, working alongside professionals from Algorithm, Architecture, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and various TikTok departments to drive the end-to-end delivery of innovative algorithms, products, and features that inspire creativity and joy globally.
- Oversee complex, cross-functional algorithm-related programs, managing all aspects of program delivery and being accountable for project outcomes.
- Establish methodologies for program execution and continually seek data-driven improvements to these processes, owning the collaboration tools and processes.
- Evaluate and enhance the delivery efficiency of teams.
- Develop project schedules and define key milestones;
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and address obstacles;
- Ensure smooth market release of algorithms, products, and applications;
- Contribute to the achievement of TikTok's broader project goals as part of the PMO team.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with over 5 years of experience in project delivery or technical leadership, coupled with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to thrive in TikTok's dynamic environment.
- Deep understanding and practical experience in developing and optimizing project management processes, with a focus on analyzing and enhancing delivery efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with teams, management, and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, with a proven track record of successful project execution.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic setting requiring self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a technical role.
- Familiarity with recommendation systems and algorithms.
- Experience managing projects across different time zones.
