We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Policy and External Affairs. This role will play a critical part in advancing our mission to drive transformative change in energy policy and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive policy agenda that aligns with our mission and vision.
- Lead our policy research efforts, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and serve as a primary voice for our organization's policy positions.
- Engage with governmental agencies, coalitional partners, academic institutions, and business interests to inform and shape our policy agenda.
- Develop public statements on policy matters, speak with the press, and represent our organization at external events, conferences, and workshops.
- Build and leverage relationships within the policy and advocacy community, particularly in the energy sector.
- At least 6 years of experience in energy or climate policy, with significant congressional engagement and advocacy expertise.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of policy analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills to develop data-driven policy recommendations and assess the impact of legislative initiatives.
