Oak Grove School District is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for promoting and developing successful learning for students who are eligible for IDEA services. You will effectively support the education of students who have been identified and qualify for services under the Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severe disability designations. You will assess students' functioning to customize an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and design and assign activities that modify general curriculum to suit every pupil's needs. You will maintain regular communication with your students, their parents, and appropriate staff members and be responsible for development, implementation, and revision of their student's IEP. Patience, compassion, positivity, and empathy are core values you must have to work with children with exceptional needs. This job reports to the Site Administrator and the Director of Special Education. To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of special education principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must also be able to work effectively with students, parents, and staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
