Job Overview

Purpose: The Children's Ministry Leader is tasked with creating and implementing effective ministry frameworks, resources, and teams to nurture the spiritual growth of elementary-aged children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embody the values and standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Main Duties:

  • Guide and mentor the Elementary Team to effectively disciple children in grades K-5.
  • Collaborate with parents to support their children's spiritual development.
  • Design and oversee all aspects of the Elementary Ministry, including family outreach and volunteer recruitment.
  • Develop a comprehensive plan for the Elementary Ministry to be utilized across all church locations.
  • Articulate and promote a vision for the Elementary Ministry that is actionable at all sites.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Elementary Serve Team and families through various channels.
  • Select and distribute educational materials and resources for ministry activities to leaders across all locations.
  • Create engaging environments and programs that foster biblical understanding and spiritual growth for elementary students.
  • Manage social media content and communications directed at Elementary families.
  • Provide childcare during church-wide events for the elementary age group.
  • Serve as a coach and resource for Kids Ministry staff across all locations.
  • Recruit, train, and motivate Serve Team Members.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership regarding ideas, challenges, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Kids Team to plan and execute Kids Camp.
  • Lead and develop staff, apprentices, and interns as needed.
  • Ensure high standards of excellence in all ministry areas.
  • Manage the ministry budget and resources responsibly.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
  • Travel may be required for ministry purposes.
  • Attend meetings punctually as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and successful background check.
  • Alignment with the doctrinal beliefs of the church.
  • Ability to inspire and communicate effectively in diverse settings.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Commitment to confidentiality regarding personal and church matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical and Work Environment:

This role involves both indoor and outdoor work environments, requiring the ability to sit, stand, bend, and move flexibly. Occasionally, lifting items up to 10 pounds may be necessary. Proficiency in using office equipment, including computers and phones, is essential.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring attendance at all weekly gatherings and regular office hours.
