Lead EEG Technician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead EEG Technician to join our team at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. As a key member of our Epilepsy Center, you will be responsible for performing EEG testing duties and overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform EEG testing duties, including patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Triaging orders and providing training to EEG technicians
  • Serving as a resource to physicians and other technologists
  • Managing scheduling, triaging orders, quality, supplies, data management, billing, and equipment
  • Collodion connections and disconnections in inpatient settings for all age groups, including neonates
  • Performing and setting up connections for intraoperative and interventional studies
  • Conducting long-term real-time monitoring of EEG signals with scalp, depth, or cortical electrodes on inpatient floors and surgical/interventional suites
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of EEG technician experience post-internship and demonstrated ability to meet department competencies
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or graduation from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Accredited) OR graduation from an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) approved Electroneurodiagnostic (END) training program
  • Three (3) years of EEG and/or Evoked Potential studies and demonstrated ability to meet competencies of the department
  • BLS Certification
  • American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) registry eligible
  • Must possess an advanced knowledge of normal and abnormal EEG patterns and a working knowledge of abnormalities in diagnostic EEG and Epilepsy monitoring studies
  • Knowledge of applicable computer operating systems and software (MS Office and Natus XLTEK)
  • Ability to work in all inpatient care settings (general, ICU, and emergency departments)
  • Proficient in data management, including pruning, merging, and medical records protocols
