Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Lead EEG Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our EEG department, you will be responsible for leading and guiding EEG Technicians in the performance of duties, while also performing all functions of an EEG Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide EEG Technicians in the performance of duties, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient department operations.
  • Handle and/or act as a resource for difficult or complex EEG recordings, utilizing your expertise to resolve issues and improve patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the orientation and ongoing training of EEG staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Assist management in staff scheduling, prioritizing, and assigning work based on workflow fluctuations, ensuring seamless department operations.
  • Perform all functions of an EEG Technician, including interviewing patients, abstracting relevant information, and operating EEG equipment to take electroencephalographic tracings.
  • Monitor patient medical issues and physiological events, ensuring patient safety and welfare.
  • Obtain recordings, including any abnormal clinical manifestations, for physician interpretation.
  • May assist physicians in surgical cases by setting up continuous EEG monitoring, video monitoring, and obtaining recordings during ECOG and Wada mapping.
  • Transport EEG equipment to patient rooms and various departments, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Perform routine maintenance on EEG equipment, identifying malfunctions and reporting to management.
  • Create and maintain EEG and Video-EEG records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Graduate from an accredited or formal certificate EEG program, required.
  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) by ABRET, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification, required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years clinical EEG Technologist experience, required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in all aspects of EEG procedures and equipment, required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, required.
Additional Information
