Ochsner Health System is seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team in Lafayette, LA. As a CRNA, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician.
Key Responsibilities- Administer anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures
- Assess patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia
- Ensure patient safety and administer anesthesia following accepted practice techniques
- Act as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co-workers, patients, and families
- Participate in department quality assurance initiatives and activities of professional development
- Master's degree from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
- License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice
- Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases and hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
