We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Laboratory Technician to support our Consultants team. The primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting sampling, processing, and testing of materials in line with established protocols and standards, ensuring accurate documentation of results.
- Performing various laboratory tests on construction materials, including:
- Concrete and Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) testing.
- Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) testing.
- Soil testing for roadway base and subgrade materials.
- Aggregate testing for gradation and specific gravity.
- Documenting work hours and assisting with client billing.
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
- Ensuring a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Staying updated with relevant certifications and testing methods.
- Meeting project deadlines and priorities.
- Demonstrating safe practices in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Fostering effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Participating in health and safety programs, exemplifying our safety standards.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A High School diploma or G.E.D., or at least one relevant industry certification.
- A valid driver's license and compliance with auto insurability requirements.
Additional certifications in relevant areas are preferred. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, along with the ability to comprehend technical documents and specifications, are essential. A foundational understanding of basic math and science is necessary for analyzing laboratory results.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires the ability to perform various physical activities, including:
- Regularly lifting and moving items up to 70 pounds.
- Using hands for delicate laboratory tasks.
- Working in environments with potential exposure to heavy equipment and hazardous materials.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet client needs, including potential travel to various project locations.
