Job Summary:
As a Cardiac Care Assistant at UMass Memorial Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families. This is a per diem opportunity that requires a high level of compassion, empathy, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and timely communication to the Registered Nurse regarding patient observations and changes.
- Participate in maintaining a safe environment and utilize interventions to de-escalate patients.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals, and nourishment.
- Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
- Maintain patient safety by performing patient safety checks and following restraint policy standards.
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- Current CNA or EMT license or Certified Medical Assistant is preferred.
- Prior clinical experience or acute care training, or Nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation, or One year of experience as a PCA I - Inpatient and has completed all unit-based competency requirements.
- Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
