Job Summary:
As a Medical Technologist at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests and analyses to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the accuracy and quality of test results, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Pretesting and processing samples
Performing, analyzing, and interpreting tests
Documenting and delivering test results
Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies
Additional Responsibilities for Lead Role:
Coordinating scheduling and section assignments
Monitoring rest and meal breaks
Resolving workflow issues
Serving as a resource for testing protocols and instrument troubleshooting
Requirements:
Baccalaureate degree in a related field
National Registration as an MLS (ASCP) or Certification with the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services
Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (Lead role requires additional experience)
