Position Summary
In this role, you will work under the guidance of a licensed Pharmacist, engaging in various tasks related to the preparation and distribution of medications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the fulfillment of medication orders and the distribution of pharmaceuticals.
- Supporting the Pharmacist in delivering drug information and pharmaceutical care to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Providing care for patients across all age groups, from infants to seniors, while understanding dosage variations and performing necessary calculations.
- Preparing intravenous solutions in compliance with industry standards.
- Ensuring that all pharmaceutical products are sterile, correctly labeled, and stored appropriately.
- Documenting medication and supply records accurately and processing charges as needed.
- Generating reports and medication administration records.
- Replenishing pharmacy inventory and managing incoming deliveries.
- Assisting in the training of new Pharmacy Technicians.
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
- Conducting scheduled quality control tasks.
- Upholding a professional and supportive atmosphere within the team.
- Performing additional pharmacy-related duties as required.
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Licensure:
Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required.
Certification:
Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) is necessary.
