About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Policy Advisor to join our team and contribute to shaping the AFL-CIO Technology Institute's policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of the institute's technology policy work and strategies;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with labor movement partners, including the AFL-CIO, their affiliate unions and state and local labor federations;
  • Collaborate with the team to educate and advise federal and state policymakers;

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in related field;
  • Demonstrated experience in or adjacent to the labor movement;
  • Commitment to the principles and goals of the labor movement, social and economic justice and racial equity;
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success in relevant policy and advocacy areas;
  • Congressional or agency-level experience strongly preferred, but not required;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, including demonstrated ability to write policy documents, testimony, regulatory comments, and memos and briefs; must be able to read and analyze policy and legislative language;

Benefits and Compensation

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000. The AFL-CIO Technology Institute offers excellent employer-paid comprehensive health care, medical, and vision benefits, generous leave including annual vacation and sick leave, Employer Paid Retirement/Pension Plan and 401(k) Savings Plan Match, and a hybrid work culture with the option to work from home up to two times per week.
