Job Summary

The Associate Director of Learning Technology will provide strategic leadership and vision for the effective use of instructional technology at Midland College. This role will serve as the primary administrator for Canvas, the College's learning management system (LMS), and will be responsible for developing and facilitating faculty training on the use of the LMS and best practices for online course design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support the College's learning management system (LMS)
  • Develop and facilitate faculty training on the use of the LMS and best practices for online course design
  • Oversee the management of online course quality
  • Collaborate with instructional support departments to assist students with using the LMS
  • Provide leadership over the administration of online courses
Requirements
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in the use of learning management systems
  • Experience as a trainer, instructional designer, or professional educator in any industry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing a learning management system for an organization
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience teaching online
  • Familiarity with online course quality guidelines, such as Quality Matters
  • Experience creating curriculum and facilitating learning sessions
