Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare jobs for production: review job specifications; set up the folder for each task; verify work against proofs for accuracy; complete bindery checklists for supervisor approval; seek clarification from supervisors as necessary.
- Operate bindery machinery: consistently monitor work for accuracy and quality; execute jobs efficiently while ensuring high standards; package and label completed jobs for shipment; identify and package customer samples separately.
- Complete post-production tasks: place samples in job jackets, ensure customer samples meet quality standards, and inform supervisors of any discrepancies.
- Transport completed jobs to the designated delivery areas.
- Conduct machine maintenance and ensure equipment is clean and functioning optimally.
- Cut printed materials according to job specifications: interpret instructions for each task; utilize computer programming for cutting jobs; complete bindery checklists for supervisor approval; cut jobs and transition to the next department.
- Verify job quality: check stock tickets for run size, quantity, and paper type; cut blank paper; organize paper in the appropriate areas.
- Perform basic maintenance on machinery.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience operating cutting, stitching, and/or folder equipment is preferred.
· General understanding of bindery machinery.
· Ability to grasp basic mechanical principles.
· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Good vision, either naturally or corrected.
