Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical professionals, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN acts as an advocate for patients to ensure an unparalleled patient experience.

About the Unit:

  • 16 bed Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit
  • Caring for a variety of intermediate-level patients, including post-CABG/Cath Lab patients, respiratory, and complicated GI patients
  • The culture on this unit fosters a strong sense of teamwork, support, education, empowerment, and enjoyment
  • The team is proud to actively mentor nursing students from various institutions, many of whom graduate and return to the team as Registered Nurses

What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • You will consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patients.
  • You will collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality patient outcomes
  • You will demonstrate communication, confidence, and professionalism through active engagement in unit and organizational activities
  • You will exemplify teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the patient care team
  • You will be accountable for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program required
  • Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse required
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state, and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
