Overview:
The Aircraft Structures Specialist is responsible for executing intricate assembly and fitting of detailed components, ensuring high productivity within various manufacturing processes, including sealant application, fastener installation, electrical harnessing, and hydraulic systems. The role demands adherence to specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute complex assembly, fitting of detailed components, and installation across diverse drilling and riveting operations with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
2. Complete routine tasks and build assignments as defined by management, maintaining 100% accuracy within designated timeframes.
3. Undertake special assignments and intricate repairs, providing recommendations for solutions to complex problems.
4. Collaborate with colleagues in various functional areas to address work stoppages, participate in improvement projects, and establish best practices.
5. Engage in mentorship programs, training others in task execution.
6. Keep supervisors informed about task progress, issues, and potential delays.
7. Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, supporting the company's 5S program (Sort, Systematize, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and guiding others in workspace maintenance.
8. Meet HACI certification eligibility requirements for internal aircraft process specifications and consistently fulfill recurrent training obligations.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Relevant experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the outlined tasks.
3. A&P and/or related licensure is highly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Proficient in arithmetic, use of instruments, and reading blueprints.
2. Ability to interpret work orders, blueprints, and process specifications to follow planned operations.
3. Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely.
4. Advanced understanding of aircraft systems and component functions.
5. Experience in direct customer interactions.
6. Demonstrate teamwork and a strong work ethic.
7. Capable of working with minimal supervision.
8. Willingness to work overtime and be available for on-call duties as requested.
9. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is strongly preferred.
10. Intermediate knowledge of SAP and beginner-level TCM is beneficial.
11. May require national and international travel without restrictions.
Physical Requirements:
1. Exposure to operational noise, temperature variations, dust, and odors from aircraft equipment and materials.
2. Ability to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, reach, or stretch for extended periods as required by job duties.
3. Adhere to all safety regulations and work in a professional manner.
4. Ability to read, hear, speak, and see without restrictions.
5. Effectively follow management directions and safety instructions.
6. Communicate proficiently in Business English.
7. Capable of lifting and moving items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance.
8. Ability to lift or move heavier items (up to 50 lbs. or more) using company-provided equipment as necessary.
9. Must possess full range of motion and agility.
