Job Summary

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for completing project assignments and work tasks. The focus will be on procurement processes, supporting production planning execution, and other supply chain activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Purchase Order Management: Issue, update, and monitor purchase orders to ensure accurate data and reporting.
  • Vendor Communication: Communicate with vendors using email and phone to request delivery dates and current pricing.
  • Supply Chain Resolution: Resolve supply and delivery issues with suppliers by proactively finding solutions and stressing the urgency of deliveries to keep projects on schedule.
  • Data Capture: Monitor the Purchasing group mailbox to capture data and transfer it to the ERP tool.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interface with multiple departments within Client's (Receiving, Performance Excellence, Engineering, Production, and Accounts Payable) to complete work tasks and projects.
  • Process Documentation: Document and update job-related work processes and procedures.
  • Quote Management: Send large component quote packages out for bid to multiple suppliers; receive, manage, and organize returned information.
Required Qualifications
  • Purchasing Experience: 3 years of experience in purchasing/procurement and supporting a technical operations environment with lead time constraints.
  • RFQ Processes: 3 years of related experience in RFQ processes – vendor competitive bidding.
  • Purchasing or Procurement Experience: 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Customer Service: Customer service experience in terms of both internal and external customers.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Teaming and collaboration skills.
  • ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems like JDE or SAP in material management or production planning.
  • MS Office Suite: Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite (Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical Drawings: Able to read, interpret, and understand Mechanical Technical Drawings.
  • Fabrication Processes: Some understanding of part fabrication processes (Milling, Lathe, and Laser Sheetmetal fabrication).
Estimated Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
