Job Summary:

As a Mechanical Designer at Ascential Technologies, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for automation manufacturing equipment. This role requires strong proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred, and thorough knowledge of manufacturing principles and commercial technology used as a tool for creation of designs.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and development of mechanical systems and components for automation manufacturing equipment
Collaboration with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and define design requirements based on project specifications and manufacturing goals
Creation of detailed 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software and development and validation of design concepts and functional testing
Continuous evaluation and optimization of mechanical designs to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness, while adhering to industry standards and regulations
Preparation and maintenance of comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and design change records

Requirements:

Proven experience (minimum of 5 years) in mechanical design
Strong proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred
Thorough knowledge of manufacturing principles and commercial technology used as a tool for creation of designs
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, such as assembly, machining, welding
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
