Senior Quality Control Associate

Are you a seasoned analytical expert looking to take on a leadership role in a dynamic team? Wacker Chemie AG is seeking a Senior Quality Control Associate - Analytical to join our San Diego team. In this role, you will lead method transfer, development, and qualification projects, working closely with our QC control team, Process Development Team, and external clients. Your expertise in analytical techniques, international regulations, and method development and validation will be invaluable in ensuring the highest quality standards are met. As a mentor to other quality associates, you will play a key role in supporting technical transfers, method validation, and quality investigations. Key Responsibilities- Lead project groups to complete objectives in a timely manner, managing project-related schedules and collaborating with Operations, Process Development, and external clients.
- Develop, qualify, and validate complex analytical test methods following international guidelines and client requirements.
- Mentor quality control associates, ensuring they understand various analytical assays and standard operation procedures, as well as conform to departmental procedures.
- Develop and revise SOPs under data integrity guidelines, ensuring procedures are up-to-date and current.
- Assist Quality Assurance in ensuring compliance with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead QC initiatives, developing and implementing improvement projects with input from affected departments and parties.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, or Chemistry, with a combination of education and experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, and chemistry.
- 8+ years of relevant experience with BS, 6+ years with MS, or 0+ years with PhD required.
- Up to 5% travel.
- Highly independent, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Capable of mentoring other quality professionals and working closely with other departments.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and able to develop documentation and create tables for laboratory inventory and data entry.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with excellent record-keeping skills.
- Sound scientific judgment, with good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Experience working in a GMP facility is highly desirable.
- Experience analyzing plasmid DNA is highly desirable.
We offer a competitive salary range of $106,000 - $140,000, depending on experience, education, and other factors.
