Job SummaryThe Senior Quality Manager will be critical to the supply chain leadership team and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust quality system to ensure compliance with internal and external standards. This role will involve coordinating quality assurance and control activities, managing audits, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a food safety program, conduct regular audits, and verify that all processes meet food safety standards to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
- Lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of food safety and quality assurance programs specifically tailored for condiments such as mayonnaise, ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Function as the lead for updates in regulations and legislation to ensure full compliance with all regulatory and 3rd party requirements with a keen focus on all condiment products, including mayonnaise.
- Work collaboratively with our contract manufacturing team, R&D, and supply chain departments to identify opportunities for process improvements and product quality enhancements.
- Develop and conduct training programs for staff to reinforce food safety and quality standards, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and responsibility.
- Evaluate and assess suppliers to ensure that they meet quality standards for ingredients used in condiments and work with them to resolve any quality issues.
- Maintain detailed records of quality control operations, data analysis, and corrective actions taken. Generate reports, track metrics, and benchmark against other similar organizations to ensure we are meeting consumers standards.
- Lead the response to any quality-related incidents or product recalls, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
- 7+ years of experience in direct food safety leadership and proven experience in quality management or assurance roles.
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in quality management software and tools.
- High knowledge of the condiment space, including mayo.
- Office-based with regular visits to suppliers.
- Travel is required to meet the goals of the company.
