Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Precision Strip. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Collaborate with internal teams to schedule and perform preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Equipment Repair and Maintenance: Lead complex troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments of equipment, utilizing your expertise in hydraulics and electrical systems.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure accurate inventory levels of spare parts, supplies, and equipment, facilitating efficient job completion and minimizing downtime.
  • Installation and Assembly: Assist in the installation and assembly of new equipment, ensuring seamless integration into our operations.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of hydraulics (pumps, motors, valves, cylinders) and electrical systems (single phase, DC circuits, PLC, three phase, multi-meter).
  • Fabrication Skills: Have experience with fabrication (welding, plasma, torch) and be able to interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, and a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks.
  • Problem-Solving and Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for improvement, seek best practices, and explore innovative solutions to optimize processes and equipment performance.
  • Experience and Education: Possess proven maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with an accreditation from a technical school or applicable skills trade program.
