Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Mercy Health System. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, including setting up instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other necessary items to the surgeon during procedures.
  • Participate in pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including preparing patients for surgery and assisting with recovery.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and efficient surgical process.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including instrument counts and surgical procedure documentation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
Working Conditions

The Surgical Technician will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills. The ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is also required.
