Roosevelt University College of Science, Health and Pharmacy seeks a highly motivated and skilled Pharmaceutical Research Fellow to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for facilitating pharmaceutical investigative laboratory endeavors, managing laboratory facilities, and participating in didactic instruction within the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Doctor of Pharmacy programs.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research projects assigned by faculty, utilizing various biological and chemical techniques as necessitated by the project.
- Contribute to drafting and editing manuscripts and grants, as directed by faculty.
- Develop and execute laboratory research investigations, under faculty guidance and supervision.
- Assist in the mentorship and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory, including safety and assay protocol training.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA Safety Standards relevant to laboratory research and laboratory operations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lab techniques including but not limited to pharmaceutical analyses, biochemical techniques and protocols, molecular biology, cell culture, enzyme kinetics, drug formulation and delivery systems, and development and characterization of assays and techniques that can be applied to both research and patient care areas of focus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of lab data statistics and analysis. Prior experience with data analytic software (e.g., MS Excel, GraphPad Prism, SPSS) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt's core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- One to two years of experience in lab management.
- Individuals who seek to gain experience in doctoral level training program in pharmaceutical sciences are also encouraged to apply.
The job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office/lab frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 25 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of a desktop computer is required, calling from frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition.
