Position Summary:
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will be a certified professional holding a Kansas medical license, dedicated to delivering exceptional pediatric healthcare within a primary care medical home environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The role encompasses general pediatric practice and active participation in the maintenance of certification programs recognized by accredited organizations.
Core Expectations Include:
- Providing care for patients aged 0-18 years
- Gathering comprehensive health histories
- Conducting thorough physical examinations
- Developing tailored care plans and treatment strategies
- Prescribing and executing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Managing prevalent acute and chronic health conditions
- Documenting patient interactions in electronic medical records
- Engaging in educational initiatives for patients, families, and the community regarding preventive health and wellness
- Delivering holistic care through collaboration with various departments, including dental and behavioral health
- Ensuring involvement of the Healthy Development Specialist in the assessment of patients aged 0-3 years
- Contributing to the development and implementation of specific care programs, such as asthma management
- Upholding the highest standards of clinical practice through evidence-based approaches
- Participating in the Clinic's Quality Improvement initiatives
- Opportunity to engage in the ongoing education of nursing staff and nurse practitioner students
- Participating in on-call rotations as needed
- Performing additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must possess evidence of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Certificate program or a Master's Degree Nurse Practitioner Program that meets Board of Registered Nursing standards.
- Current RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure in Kansas
- Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- 1-2 years of experience in pediatric nursing practice
- A commitment to serving underserved and uninsured populations, with adaptability to a culturally diverse community
- Current BLS certification

- Bilingual capabilities
- Previous experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting
