**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing team. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for performing construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing Manager and Senior Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform construction-related field tests as directed by the Construction Materials Testing Manager and Senior Engineer.
  • Travel to various construction sites primarily throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana, with the potential for overnight and/or weekend as needed.
  • Relay information to project manager and/or engineer, with limited in-field decision making.
  • Transport equipment, test specimens and/or documents to field personnel, laboratory, clients or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
  • Enter daily field observation reports and summary reports electronically.
  • Perform field quality control tests of in place concrete.
  • Perform field density testing on soil, concrete, asphalt and other construction materials.
  • Assist other technicians or professional staff on tasks, and assist other departments as necessary.
  • Follow Atlas safety plans, programs, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Continued education, college degree, and/or degree in technical fields a plus.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Physical strength, stamina and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs, stoop, bend, and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour work day in varying weather conditions in varying terrain.
  • Experience with concrete, soils, and asphalt testing is preferred.
  • Motivated, career-oriented individual striving to learn and achieve within the construction industry.
  • Must be willing to travel within Kentucky and Indiana as required by assignments.
