Matrix Providers is seeking a Traumatic Brain Injury Specialist (Psychiatrist, Neurologist, or Physiatrist) to be part of our skilled medical team to conduct one-time, non-treatment Veteran Disability Exams.

This role involves a combination of TELEHEALTH & TRAVEL.

• Compensation: This is an hourly position, with bi-weekly payments.
• Schedule: Up to 5 days per week (including 2 travel days and the remainder as telehealth days).

Qualifications: The Traumatic Brain Injury Specialist (Psychiatrist, Neurologist, or Physiatrist) must fulfill the following criteria:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) with a specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Neurology, possessing experience in evaluating Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
• Experience in primary care is mandatory.
• Must hold and maintain an active and unrestricted license in the specialty field of M.D. or D.O.
• Must have or obtain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review relevant medical history documentation and conduct one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for veterans.
• The TBI Specialist will document responses during the examination using web-based forms; all records will be maintained electronically. Completed evaluations will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for disability award assessments.
• Common assessment reasons include motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, and combat exposure.
• Diagnostic evaluations may involve Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) testing if clinically warranted, along with neuropsychological assessments referred to a neuropsychologist.
• Ancillary tests (X-rays, labs, EKGs, PFTs, ABIs) may be ordered and performed on-site or nearby.
