Certification Requirements

Position Overview
  • This is a travel position within the Radiologic Technology specialty.
  • Immediate start is expected.
  • Involves care for patients with COVID-19.
  • Flexibility to float to different areas as necessary.
  • A clinical checklist will be provided for guidance.
  • The Interventional Radiology Technologist collaborates closely with the interventional radiologist.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the surgical aspects of procedures by scrubbing in.
  • Circulate within the procedure room and operate radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Maintain proficiency in radiography and other imaging modalities for comprehensive coverage.
  • Evaluate patients concerning the requested procedures.
  • Analyze data to determine the most effective and economical approach for procedures.
  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare teams about the procedures.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and explain procedures to alleviate concerns.
  • Document patient care and radiologic services accurately.
  • Provide direct support during angiographic and interventional radiology procedures.
  • Manage inventory for vascular and interventional supplies.
  • Produce medical images adhering to departmental protocols.
  • Ensure proper identification of images with relevant information.
  • Confirm that the area of interest is imaged per standard protocols.
  • Distinguish between artifacts and normal pathological findings.
  • Assess the need for repeat or additional imaging.
Job Requirements
  • Preferred: Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Capability to perform all phases of Interventional Radiologic procedures, including assisting as an IR scrub tech.
  • EPIC experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must be a graduate of an AMA-accredited radiologic technology program.
Work Schedule
  • Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
  • On-call coverage may be required on weekdays or weekends.
  • 30-minute response time for on-call duties.
  • 40 hours of work per week.

  • Candidates with prior permanent employment at any WellSpan site within the last year cannot be considered.
  • Flu vaccination is required from September 7 to April 30.
