Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our Orthopaedics Clinic team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record patient data, including medical history and vital signs
  • Perform various front and back office clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and verifying medical coverage
  • Assist with treatment procedures, including preparing instruments for sterilization and maintaining a sanitary work area
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, and answer and direct phone calls as needed
  • Enter data into computer systems and verify accuracy
  • Provide quality customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Program Graduate or 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, AMT, AAMA, NRCMA, CCMA, etc.)
Working Conditions

This is a heavy work position that requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. The position may also require rotating work shifts and limited access to the medical room.
