Medical Technologist Opportunity

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients.

Responsibilities

Our Medical Technologists perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, clinical chemistry, blood bank, serology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology. You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting laboratory tests and procedures to provide data for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
  • Performing complex analysis of microscopic, immunologic, biologic, bacteriologic, hematologic, and chemical tests and their results.
  • Receiving and processing specimens, as well as putting away supplies when received in the department.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving instrument problems, documenting corrective action in appropriate logs, and performing instrumentation repairs when necessary.
  • Ensuring quality control is properly performed and logged, and following proper department procedure for corrective action.
  • Training new employees and/or students on laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Participating in phlebotomy and accession responsibilities.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences or a related field.
  • MT registry or eligibility, with successful completion of MT registry within 6 months of eligibility or hire.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification is preferred.
