The City of New York seeks a highly skilled Litigation Training Assistant to join the Litigation Training Bureau. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in legal research and programming.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented candidate who can assist in the administration of CLE-accredited courses and other trainings provided by the bureau. The successful applicant will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and send announcements for CLEs and track registrations
  • Create, email, and file CLE certificates
  • Reach out to speakers for written materials and visual presentations
  • Organize workshops, create attendance sheets, and maintain workshop files
  • Reserve rooms for workshops and ensure necessary technology is available
  • Create, distribute, and collect evaluations
  • Support the Bureau Chief with administrative tasks
  • Perform legal research via Westlaw and other designated resources
  • Interact with staff, executives, contractors, and external agencies as needed
  • Document external training participants
  • Stay up-to-date on CLE rules and regulations
  • Provide technical assistance with electronic presentations and equipment
  • Maintain and provide trial equipment for assistants
  • Upload and maintain written materials on hard drives

Qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate degree preferred or high school diploma with four years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or civic organization
  • An aspiring law student interested in legal research and programming is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
