Aircraft Structures Mechanic

This position performs maintenance and manufacturing tasks to aircraft, aircraft parts and components in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Erickson requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs Sheet Metal Structural, Fabrication, Modification, and Repair work.
- Works with close tolerance dimensions, and pneumatic tools.
- Performs disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, fabrication, manufacturing, maintenance, and assembly of aircraft and aircraft parts, components and wiring documenting work per company, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Installs aircraft parts and components to aircraft at the fixed base of operations (FBO) and in the field environment.
- Reads, interprets, and complies with Repair Station Quality Manual, Production Certificate Quality Manual, Standard Operation Procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations, Technical Manuals, Drawings, and Specifications.
- Works in a team environment and follows Erickson's Values Charter.
- Achieves and maintains task qualifications for all work performed.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Completes all required paperwork in connection with assigned normal duties, documents time and work completed in appropriate systems, and creates any required documentation.
- Troubleshoots and corrects aircraft part and component discrepancies during normal work and Aircraft On Ground (AOG) situations.
- Orders, receives and returns parts in accordance with company policies.
- Travels as required to meet company and customer requirements.
- Performs Lean, Standard Work and Continuous Process Improvements.
- Assists other employees in the performance of their job assignments through coaching, mentoring, and guidance.
- Performs duties of an Inspector if task qualified.
- Responsible for the care of precision measuring equipment, tools and test equipment and benches.
- Works with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and products to perform required tasks.
- Complies with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures as a team player.
- Provides support to internal and external customers to meet customer requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with drilling, counter sinks, rivet shavers, reamers, riveting, jig/fixture usage and other tools associated with sheet metal repair.
- Experience with thin Contoured Structure as well as large structural fittings helpful.
- Possess or willing to purchase set of sheet metal tools.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, perform drilling/riveting and fabrication duties; as well as being able to develop sheet metal repairs using Structural Repair Manuals, Technical Manuals and Engineering Dispositions.
- Knowledge of FAA and aviation industry requirements and regulations to perform manufacturing fabrication and assembly of aircraft parts and components.
- High School Diploma or equivalency, Valid Driver's license.
- Ability to use tools, equipment, manuals, drawings and specifications to perform aircraft maintenance, repair and fabrication.
- 4-9 years in aircraft maintenance, repair and/or fabrication.
- Desired - Airframe and/or Power plant license, FCC license.
- Must be able to communicate verbally in an accurately and professional way. Written documents must be clear and concise.
- Work 40 or more hours per week as directed (overtime, weekends, etc.).
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as directed and drive company vehicles or rental vehicles as directed.
