Job SummaryThe Pharmacy Technician Trainee is a student employed by Moffitt Cancer Center while enrolled in a pharmacy technician training program approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy. This role provides practical training to become a registered pharmacy technician and supports the pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist, under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Initiate or receive communications with patient provider team members to facilitate patient care, including refill authorization requests, medical records review, and insurance authorization review.
- Assist in the compounding, preparation, and distribution of pharmaceutical and investigational preparations, following USP standards and hospital policy.
- Perform inventory stewardship, keep records, and make reports required by law, and process documents required by the hospital.
- At least six months of healthcare/service/hospitality related experience.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Not currently enrolled in, or have completed another pharmacy training program.
