Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Oncology Pharmacy department. The successful candidate will perform pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Transcribe medication orders into the computerized medical record system, ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
  • Process prescriptions and new orders for checking by a pharmacist.
  • Fulfill medication orders in the proper order of priority, accurately counted, with neat and accurate labels affixed to the preparation.
  • Prepare and deliver medication, ensuring proper storage location requirements are met based on the stability needs of the product.
  • Perform routine quality assurance tasks, including checking extemporaneously manufactured medications, commercially available medications, I.V. solutions, and equipment for expiration dates, recalls, or signs of deterioration.
  • Receive medication and supplies in accordance with inventory control and purchasing policies, and help maintain all medication inventory levels within the predetermined stocking level.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or have experience that qualifies them for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes Section.
  • Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
  • Newly graduated from Pharmacy Technician Training program and/or less than 1 year as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
  • Experience with unit dose, pharmacy orders, and inventory computer systems; I.V. admixtures is preferred.
