Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Interventionist Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cardiac catheterization lab, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our medical team.


About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who possesses excellent technical skills and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, including diagnostic and interventional techniques.


  • Pre-Procedure Preparation:
  1. Prepare the Cath Lab Environment: Ensure all necessary equipment and tools are sterile, functional, and properly set up for procedures.
  2. Verify Patient Information: Confirm patient details, including medical history, allergies, and consent forms, before each procedure.
  3. Assist with Patient Preparation: Help patients get ready for procedures by setting up monitoring equipment and ensuring proper positioning.
  4. Provide Patient Education: Inform patients about what to expect during the procedure and answer any questions they may have.
Assisting with Procedures:
  1. Collaborate with Physicians: Work closely with cardiologists and other physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures.
  2. Handle Sterile Instruments: Manage catheters, balloons, and stents during procedures, maintaining a sterile field and ensuring correct placement.
  3. Operate Imaging Equipment: Use X-ray fluoroscopy machines to capture images during diagnostic tests, such as angiograms.
  4. Monitor Vital Signs: Keep track of patients' heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other vital signs during procedures.
  5. Administer Medications: Provide medications under physician direction, ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.
Post-Procedure Care:
  1. Monitor Patients: Watch for immediate complications after procedures, such as bleeding, changes in vital signs, or signs of infection.
  2. Transfer Patients to Recovery: Assist with transferring patients from the procedure table to recovery, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  3. Provide Post-Procedure Instructions: Educate patients about post-operative care, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments.
Equipment Management and Maintenance:
  1. Maintain and Clean Equipment: Ensure cath lab equipment and instruments are functioning properly and ready for use.
  2. Regularly Check Equipment: Troubleshoot machinery, including X-ray equipment, electrocardiograms (EKG), defibrillators, and patient monitors.
  3. Manage Inventory: Order necessary supplies and maintain adequate inventory levels to support procedures.
Patient Monitoring and Safety:
  1. Continuously Monitor Vital Signs: Keep track of patients' vital signs during procedures, ensuring optimal conditions for interventions.
  2. Document Patient Information: Record patient data, procedures, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) or procedure logs.
