Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant I Microbiology to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for assisting technical lab staff and performing various laboratory tasks, including specimen collection, processing, and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist technical lab staff with laboratory tasks, including specimen collection, processing, and testing.
- Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision.
- Process and prepare patient samples, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and specimen integrity.
- Track and locate missing specimens while monitoring pending lists.
- Perform maintenance activities on laboratory equipment as directed.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Progression through career ladder II-IV is subject to completion of career ladder requirements.
- Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or the ability to obtain fingerprint certification.
- Dependent on department/location, candidate must possess a valid state driver's license in the state of employment and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
- Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous clinical laboratory experience.
- Successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and handling.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
Work Environment:
This position is located in Loveland, CO and requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
