Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
- Maintain the highest quality of care for residents at all times.
Qualifications:
- Current CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within two weeks of hire.
- Knowledge or interest in therapy, rehabilitation, and daily living activities.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, families, and staff.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout the workday.
- Capacity to handle the mental and emotional demands of the role.
- Must possess adequate sight and hearing or use prosthetics to meet job requirements.
- Good general health and emotional stability are essential.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and residents weighing over fifty pounds.
- Exposure to infectious materials and diseases is possible.
Essential Functions:
- Review and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures annually.
- Ensure compliance with established policies, including dress code.
- Develop personalized care plans for each resident.
- Participate in care plan conferences and family meetings as needed.
- Address and report any concerns raised by residents or their families.
- Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to address issues and improve service quality.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
- Support the Director of Nursing in scheduling and assigning work duties.
- Conduct performance evaluations and make daily rounds to monitor staff and resident care.
- Foster a warm and positive environment within the nursing department.
- Plan and participate in educational programs for staff development.
- Maintain budgetary compliance and recommend equipment and supply needs.
- Ensure effective communication of care plans among all personnel involved in resident care.
- Attend relevant departmental meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
