Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing Services in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Maintain the highest quality of care for residents at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Current CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within two weeks of hire.
  • Knowledge or interest in therapy, rehabilitation, and daily living activities.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capacity to handle the mental and emotional demands of the role.
  • Must possess adequate sight and hearing or use prosthetics to meet job requirements.
  • Good general health and emotional stability are essential.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and residents weighing over fifty pounds.
  • Exposure to infectious materials and diseases is possible.

Essential Functions:

  • Review and recommend updates to departmental policies and procedures annually.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies, including dress code.
  • Develop personalized care plans for each resident.
  • Participate in care plan conferences and family meetings as needed.
  • Address and report any concerns raised by residents or their families.
  • Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to address issues and improve service quality.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
  • Support the Director of Nursing in scheduling and assigning work duties.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and make daily rounds to monitor staff and resident care.
  • Foster a warm and positive environment within the nursing department.
  • Plan and participate in educational programs for staff development.
  • Maintain budgetary compliance and recommend equipment and supply needs.
  • Ensure effective communication of care plans among all personnel involved in resident care.
  • Attend relevant departmental meetings and perform additional duties as assigned.
