Position Overview

Richfield Elementary School is on the lookout for a talented individual to join our team as a Creative Arts Educator. This role encompasses a part-time commitment of 40%, with classes scheduled for two days a week. The selected candidate will utilize the California Arts Standards for Visual Arts to guide instruction for students ranging from Transitional Kindergarten to 8th Grade, delivering engaging lessons in 30-40 minute sessions. The current schedule includes Mondays and Wednesdays, though flexibility may be offered to accommodate the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Creative Arts Educator, you will be responsible for:
  • Designing and implementing an engaging instructional program that meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Managing student behavior to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Assessing and evaluating student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Utilizing a variety of instructional materials and technology to enhance the learning experience.
  • Communicating effectively with parents regarding student progress and expectations.
  • Collaborating with fellow educators and specialists to support school-wide initiatives.
  • Participating in school activities and events to foster community engagement.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
  • A valid California Teaching Credential for grades K-8.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of elementary education subject matter and effective instructional strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to engage students and foster a positive learning environment.

Physical and Work Environment:

The role may require occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and involves a moderate noise level. Candidates should be prepared to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
